PASSIVE DISARM TECHNOLOGY (PDX)

INFORMATION SHEET

Many vehicles have keyless entry and some drivers dislike having to press one button to open the vehicle and another to deactivate the immobiliser. The solution is the use of Passive Disarm Technology (PDX).
As soon as the ignition is turned on or the vehicle put into the start phase a coded signal sent by a small module behind the dashboard causes an RF Transponder (RFT) dangling from the ignition keyring, to automatically transmit to the relay and deactivate it.

The security system akin to a transponder type unit is completely transparent to the user and will always allow the car to start as long as the small RFT is on the keyring.

The RFT can communicate with a limitless number of relays in the vehicle, as long as they are all coded to the RFT.

CODING

If the Immobiliser Relay is not replacing the starter relay, it is only necessary to go to the ignition on position for the coding procedure.

CONNECTIONS

The power to the PDX must be connected to either the ignition on position that has +12VDC while the ignition key is in the ON and START positions - OR - the START phase position. The RFT will not transmit disarm signals to the starter relay if the +12VDC signal is not present during the START phase.
CHASSIS - the negative wire of the PDX must be terminated with a lug and securely screwed to the chassis of the vehicle. Ensure the lug touched bare metal to provide a good electrical connection.

IMPORTANT RFT INFORMATION

Never attach more than one RFT to the keyring. Both RFT’s will transmit simultaneously and clash.
